Viva Las Vegas! Although this last trip to Las Vegas was probably our thirtieth visit in the last ten years, Las Vegas never seizes to amaze me in providing new experiences. We opted to fly this trip on www.allegiantair.com. I have to say, flying into Vegas is a whole different experience than driving. It’s a short flight, forty five minutes compared to the normal five and a half hour drive out of the Central Valley. The interesting thing I realized is you pack much lighter when you fly, yet it always seems to be fine. We opted to rent a car to avoid the cab fares. This worked well for us because having a wife that is pregnant translates to designated driver for this trip. The advantage to a rental car is no cab lines, a stop at CVS for snack and beverages, and less expensive if you plan to hotel hop. We opted for www.enterprise.com to reserve a compact car for fifteen dollars a day, than upgraded to a convertible for an additional twenty dollars a day. We have found that companies provide less expensive rates when you upgrade on site. (more…)

If you are looking for more of a “Classic California Vibe” the Central California Coast may be what you are looking for. Pismo Beach is one of the only beaches in California you can drive your vehicle on, which makes a popular destination for the ATV, dune buggies, jeeps, and motorcycles. Oceano Dunes State Vehicle Park is great for day use or overnight camping, but we highly recommend an enclosed RV or motorhome for camping. Sleeping on the sand may seem like a dream come true, but with no showers available on the dunes enclosed camping is a must.

California is one of the top tourist destinations in the World. It’s home to sunny and clean beaches, scenic mountains, celebrities, rolling hills, urban life, scenic deserts and a spirt of ingenuity that exists no where else in the world. California is home to 37,691,912 people up nearly 4 million in the last 10 years.
